1. Store and handle with care. diamonds are extremely hard, but also brittle. Store with diamond tip covered if possible.
2. Have tool reset when point is worn visibly dull and flat (.015 to .020 flat). Do not overuse the tool.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE
1. Choose the right size diamond for the wheel. See table above.
2. Mount the tool with minimum overhang to avoid vibration.
3. Mount only in the correct size hole (7/16″ shank in 7/16″ holder).
4. Set point at 10 to 15 degree angle pointing toward direction of wheel rotation. See Fig. C.

5. Turn the tool frequently 20 to 40 degrees to maintain a sharp point. You cannot turn too often.
6. Flood tool with coolant when grinding wet. Always turn coolant on before starting to dress, never during. Only dress dry if you grind dry.
7. Begin to dress at the high point on the wheel.
8. Dress at regular short intervals.
9. Take light cuts, .001″ or less per pass.
10. Do not overuse the diamond. See Fig. B above.

JOMA DIAMOND GRADES FOR SINGLEPOINT STRAIGHT DRESSERS
Premium Grade “DP”
8-sided West African diamond with smooth, frosted or slightly irregular surface. Minimum of three usable points. May have non-detrimental cracks or inclusions. For hard or medium wheels and/or close tolerances.
Commercial Grade “DC”
8-sided West African diamond may be irregular in shape and surface. Minimum of three usable points. May have cracks or inclusions. For hard or medium wheels.
Economy Grade
“DE”
8-sided West African diamond irregular in shape and surface. Minimum of two usable points. May have cracks or inclusions. For medium to soft wheels, average grinding conditions.
Thrift Grade
“DT”
8-sided West African diamond irregular in shape and surface. Minimum of one usable point. May have cracks or inclusions. For soft wheels and general grinding purposes.
